I graduated from my university earlier today. I walked the walk, patiently waited during the commencement remarks, and threw my cap with the others.
I don't know what to feel. There's probably a lot of work ahead of me, now that I've no longer school to dictate my waking hours. And, a HECK of a lot of work has gone into being able to graduate in four years with a B.A. Had to give up a lot of things to be serious: drawing, contact with online friends, dA.
Suffice to say, all that effort and dedication(?) has finally paid off and now -- I feel free. Sad to leave, but free and a little unsure.
But today, my sister, my best friend and I took pictures all over campus, by the bell tower and by the statues. We ate lunch at Chipotle's. We drove to PetsMart and looked at the fish and the hamsters, then Target to buy swimsuits. We were going to watch the Avengers in 3D, but it's been a long day. The first thing I did when I got home was collapse on my bed and recharge for a couple hours x-x
People we know are planning on visiting New York and Vegas and Brazil, going on cruises, or visiting family overseas. Homebody that I am, I'm staying and going to start at a new part-time position in a little more than a week's time. Not to mention, Diablo III is coming out on May 15 and I've been looking forward to that for YEARS.
One of my friends had a little phrase he'd repeat over and over when our immediate prognosis was uncertain: "My future is bright!" I guess that pretty much sums up how I feel right now.
Life goes on. Art is waiting for me.
